Somatic yoga and coaching is a gentle, body led approach that supports healing, self awareness and lasting change by working with the nervous system rather than against it. These sessions offer a calm, supportive space to reconnect with your body, listen to its signals and gently unwind patterns of stress, tension and emotional holding.

Unlike more directive or performance based practices, somatic yoga invites slow, mindful movement, breath awareness and inner sensing. You are encouraged to move in ways that feel nourishing and responsive to your body in the moment. There is no forcing, no pushing and no expectation to achieve a particular shape or outcome. The work is guided by curiosity and compassion, allowing your system to feel safe enough to soften and release.

Somatic coaching weaves reflective dialogue alongside embodied practices. This supports you to notice how experiences, beliefs and emotions live in the body, and how greater awareness can open space for choice, regulation and self trust. Sessions are always client led and adapted to what feels supportive for you on the day.
How it works and the benefits:
From a scientific perspective, somatic practices are known to support regulation of the autonomic nervous system. Chronic stress, trauma and emotional overwhelm can keep the body in patterns of fight, flight or shutdown. Gentle movement, slow breathing and mindful attention help signal safety to the nervous system, allowing it to shift towards rest, repair and balance.

Research in neuroscience and trauma informed care shows that the body holds memory and emotional experience, often beyond conscious thought. Somatic approaches support bottom up processing, meaning change happens through felt experience rather than analysis alone. This can be especially supportive when talking alone feels limited or overwhelming.

Somatic yoga also supports proprioception and interoception, the body’s ability to sense itself and its internal states. Strengthening these capacities has been shown to improve emotional regulation, resilience and overall wellbeing.

These sessions are suitable whether you are new to somatic work or have an established practice. Everything is offered as an invitation rather than an instruction, and you are always encouraged to listen to your own body’s wisdom. Rest is welcomed. Choice is central. Your pace is honoured.

Somatic yoga and coaching can support periods of stress, transition, healing and personal growth, as well as ongoing wellbeing. Sessions are held in a warm, grounded and respectful space, where your experience is met with care and professionalism.

This work is not about fixing yourself. It is about remembering how to listen, respond and reconnect to what your body already knows.
You do not need to prepare in any way, have prior experience, or be able to do anything specific in these sessions. There is nothing to perform or get right. You are simply invited to arrive as you are, and with gentle curiosity, begin getting to know yourself on a deeper, more embodied level, supported every step of the way.
